Description
Piedmont Healthcare seeks a Director of Care Logistics to lead system-wide patient flow, bed management, and access coordination across our Georgia network. This leadership role oversees centralized transfer and placement operations, leveraging data and technology to optimize throughput, capacity, and patient experience. The Director partners closely with clinical and administrative leaders to standardize workflows, improve quality and safety, and support value-based care. Oversee centralized transfer, placement, and care coordination operations to ensure timely access and safe transitions of care
Use data analytics and KPIs to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements
Collaborate with clinical, ancillary, and administrative leaders to align logistics with quality, safety, and patient experience goals
Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary logistics team, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Develop and manage budgets, staffing models, and technology investments to support efficient operations
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies related to patient movement and capacity management
Partner with IT to optimize use of bed management, EMR, and command center technologies
Drive standardization of care logistics workflows across hospitals and service lines
Report outcomes and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders

Master’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or related field strongly preferred

Experience leading patient flow, bed management, or transfer center operations
Demonstrated success using data analytics and dashboards to drive operational decisions
Proven track record managing cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of hospital regulatory requirements related to patient placement and capacity
Experience with EHR and bed management/command center technologies
Change management and process improvement training (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
