Description
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Director to lead strategic and operational initiatives within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will oversee clinical and administrative teams, drive quality and safety standards, optimize patient care processes, and manage budgets and resources. You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to implement innovative, patient-centered solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance. Develop and implement departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics aligned with Piedmont’s mission and system priorities.
Oversee day-to-day clinical and operational performance to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams, fostering a culture of respect, innovation, and accountability.
Drive quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives using data, analytics, and evidence-based best practices.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements, including policy development and adherence.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and administrative leaders on program development, service line growth, and process improvement.
Manage financial performance, including budget oversight, resource allocation, and cost-containment strategies.
Lead change management efforts and major projects to improve workflows, access, and operational efficiency.
Support workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and staff development, including ongoing training and professional development programs.

Stakeholder engagement and physician relations
Patient safety and risk management
Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)

Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field (MHA, MBA, MSN preferred)
Current clinical licensure in a relevant discipline (e.g., RN, allied health) preferred but not required, depending on background
5+ years of progressive leadership in hospital or health system operations; multi-site or service line leadership strongly preferred
Certification in healthcare management or administration (e.g., FACHE) preferred
Training or certification in quality/process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) preferred
Proven experience managing budgets, teams, and complex improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting
