Description
Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Consultant, Behavioral Health to bridge clinical expertise and innovative technology. In this role, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical teams to design and optimize behavioral health workflows within our digital platforms. You will translate behavioral health needs into technical requirements, support implementation and change management, and use data to improve outcomes. Drawing on evidence-based practices, you will help ensure regulatory compliance, patient safety, and exceptional user experience in a dynamic, innovation-focused environment.Partner with product and engineering teams to design behavioral health workflows in Kaiser Permanente’s digital platforms
Analyze clinical and operational requirements to translate behavioral health needs into technical specifications
Consult with clinicians and care teams to optimize technology-enabled behavioral health interventions
Ensure solutions support evidence-based practices, regulatory compliance, and patient safety
Use data and analytics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving behavioral health outcomes
Support implementation, change management, and end-user training for new features and tools
Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and resolve issues
Document requirements, use cases, and process flows for behavioral health functionality
Contribute subject-matter expertise to testing, validation, and quality assurance activities
Stay current on behavioral health best practices and digital health innovations
Behavioral health clinical knowledge
Requirements gathering and analysis
Healthcare IT systems (EHR, digital health tools)
Workflow and process design
Data analysis and reporting
Regulatory and compliance knowledge (HIPAA, MH/SUD)
Technical documentation (use cases, process flows)
Change management and user adoption
Quality assurance and UAT in healthcare systems
Stakeholder communication and collaboration

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent behavioral health license
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or equivalent
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or equivalent

Certification in healthcare informatics or health IT (e.g., CAHIMS/CPHIMS) preferred
