Description
BJC HealthCare seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist to advance clinical practice and patient outcomes within Healthcare & Medical Services. The CNS provides expert consultation, leads evidence-based practice implementation, and supports complex patient care across care teams. Responsibilities include clinical coaching, staff education, protocol development, and collaboration on quality and safety initiatives. In our compassionate, innovative, and ethically focused culture, you will partner with interdisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement, optimize care standards, and mentor nurses in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.Provide expert clinical consultation on complex patient cases to nurses and the care team
Lead implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice and clinical protocols
Develop, deliver, and evaluate staff education and clinical competencies
Use data to identify practice gaps and lead quality and patient safety initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care standards
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for bedside nurses and new graduates
Participate in policy, procedure, and guideline development for the service line
Support change management and continuous improvement projects across the department
Contribute to outcomes measurement, reporting, and dissemination of best practices
Promote a culture of compassionate, patient-centered, and ethical care aligned with BJC values
Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking
Evidence-based practice and research appraisal
Care planning for complex and high-acuity patients
Clinical education and staff development
Quality improvement and patient safety methodologies
Data analysis and outcomes measurement
Interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
Change management in clinical settings
Protocol and guideline development
Electronic health record (EHR) documentation and optimization
